The Tapa of the Week (Entry #1): Croqueta de Arroz Negra at Doña Casta…

O.K., people–today, I shall attempt to write what shall be the first entry in a (hopefully) regular series of posts entitled “The Tapa of the Week”!!…As you can probably guess, the point is for me to highlight a pincho that, I feel, was the best that I’ve eaten for the week…

This week, I went to La Taberna de Doña Casta, a bar in El Tubo (the city’s main tapas district) that is an all-around favorite…As a lover of croquetas, I had heard people rave that Doña Casta has the best in the city–so obviously, I had to see it for myself!!…

I had two croquetas that afternoon, but the one that really stood out to me was the one made of arroz negro (black rice) and topped with alioli sauce–that was melt-in-your-mouth DELICIOUS!!…

Admittedly, these morsels are a little on the pricey side (think 2.40 a pop)–but, if you don’t mind spending a little more for quality food, than you won’t object too much!!…

Does anyone else love croquetas???…Where else might I find quality croquetas???…
