Zesty Zaragoza: Las Murallas…

Today, I take you to a site that I often pass by doing my day-to-day doings–Las Murallas (The Walls)…

Once an imposing expanse of fortified walls that extended throughout what is now the city center, Las Murallas were built from the I-III century A.D. (construction started in the reign of Tiberius), when Zaragoza was the Ancient Roman settlement of Caesaragusta

Unfortunately, as the centuries passed and the city expanded, the wall was steadily dismantled until this was all that was left…But hey–at least we still have some of it!!…

Are there any Roman ruins where you live???…
