Dans Paris (Inside Paris): Day 3…

O.K., I don’t know how exactly accurate this title is, because on Saturday, I wasn’t exactly inside Paris–rather, I was in what’s probably its most well-known suburb…Can you guess where???…

If you guessed Versailles, you are correct, my friend!!!!…

Unless you’ve been living under a rock your whole life, you should know that Versailles is a palace in the town of the same name, it originally began as a modest hunting lodge for Louis XIII…While he made some expansions to the house, it was his son, dear Louis XIV, who really took things to a whole new level–and considering he’s called “The Sun King”, you know it’s extravagant…

Now even though I never really considered myself a France person, I had always wanted to go to Versailles, because from what I saw in pictures, it was over-the-top–and I’m a girl who loves flashy, extravagant kinds of things, so I thought it’d be up my alley…In retrospect, it was certainly grand, but it wasn’t the most luxurious palace I’ve been in–I’ll reserve that honor for the Palacio Real in Madrid (https://thepumpkinshead.wordpress.com/2013/01/28/visit-spain-visit-madrid/) for the most lavish living space I’ve seen, and the gardens of the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos in Córdoba (https://thepumpkinshead.wordpress.com/2013/04/03/captivating-cordoba/) have more sumptuous gardens, I think…

But either ways–here come the pics!!!!,,,

And that is how I spent my penultimate (gosh, I love that word) day in Paris (well, not really–but you know what I mean)…
